This punch bowl was made in the first quarter of the 18th century by the well-known master silversmith Gabriel Sleath. The influence of French art from the beginning of the 18th century may be seen in the opulent decoration of the bowl: its rim is adorned with fancifully shaped festoons, while the lower part of the body and base are decorated with ovals in relief; the handles have been made in the shape of lions' heads.
