Wooden "booth" (model)

The wooden "booth" is a small room 2.5 metres square beneath the roof of the Winter Palace with a window in the centre of the dial. It is the only wooden construction in the palace attic that has remained unchanged for 100 years already. For fire safety during the restoration of the clock in 1994-95 the timber was covered with a protective compound based on liquid glass.
