Late 15th - early 16th century Bronze, red and black lacquer, gilding, mother of pearl Height: 44 cm The heyday for this type of depiction, which was strongly influenced by Sukhothai art, was the late 15th century and the first quarter of the 16th. The gentle oval of the face, downcast eyes and softly outlined mouth create an expression of calm and concentration. The image is marked by strong plasticity and spirituality. Fingers of the same length are one of the manifestations of the "supernatural anatomy" of the Buddha.
