18th- and 19th-Century Walking Sticks from the Hermitage Collection
Second half of the 18th century Russia-Italy(?) Length 103 cm This stick is made of Spanish reed and has a hole for a
cord and a metal ferrule. Below the latter is a removable ring with a
belt of relief ornament and a button. The handle is made of jasper and
takes the form of a fantastic creature with the head of a dog, tail and
wings pressed close to its body.
