The traditional lobing cup was made by one of the major
Nuremberg masters Thomas Stoer the Elder in the so-called circa 1600 style.
This style of transition from late Renaissance to baroque shows the perfection
of the old form which is fully mastered by the cup manufacturer. The cup
is remarkable for its artful chased ornamentation and elegant chiseling.
The cap is surmounted with a vase with flowers on a steam.
