The clever mechanism has finished working and the music has stopped. The bureau has revealed all its secrets... In the upper part the surface for writing while standing up. The splendid inner facade is decorated with paired columns supporting an entablature. The open archways reveal drawers with stepped fronts. In the centre is a bronze door in the form of the wall of a hall with a dog lying by the door. Eight Doric columns support the desk with an entablature above them carrying bronze decor in the form of a frieze. The open lower side panels reveal three drawers on each side. The lower central panel of the back wall is covered with cloth to improve the sound of the music.
