This striking bell with bacchanalian scenes has been worked
in the Rococo style and is decorated with multi-figure compositions and
grotesque masks. The large size, massiveness and expensive workmanship
with thick gilding together with its deep, exceptionally penetrating tone
prompt an image of its owner as a stout wealthy gentleman.
