The handle of this bell takes the form of a tree with
a boy amongst its branches trying to catch a squirrel. The body of the
bell bears an elaborate composition including rural houses, a grazing
cow and a peasant ringing a bell. The image may be an illustration of
some work of fiction popular in the mid-19th century.
