This program provides an introduction to the large free-standing clock incorporating a mechanical organ that is the most famous work of Johann Georg Strasser, a mechanic and clockmaker who lived in St Petersburg in the early nineteenth century. The three-dimensional computer model shows the functioning of the concealed mechanism of a device that delighted and fascinated people right up to the time when recorded music appeared. |
