The "Mechanical Orchestra" was created in the form of an architectural edifice about four metres in height with a portico and paired mahogany columns embellished with gilded bronze. Its front panel contains a pendulum clock that beside hour and minute hands also has a hand showing true solar time. The solidly constructed cabinet is a case for the musical mechanism. Left and right are doors stretched across with green fabric that provide access to the music barrels and mechanism. Two weight cases situated at the back of the device contain the weights needed to drive the mechanism. To improve the sound of the organ the roof of the clock can be opened.
