After all the weights have been raised, the musical mechanism is wound up and ready to operate at any time. It is started by pressing a special button located on the side of the Mechanical Orchestra. This causes the weights to start descending, unwinding the cable and turning the drum. The turning of the drum sets in motion a system of gears with the music barrel on its axis and the tie-rods that move the rocker, The rocker moves up and down pulling on one rod then the other, thus causing the bellows to function alternately. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
