The dress is very open with a short balloon sleeve in the spirit of the time and a flared skirt decorated at the hem with a garland of ribbons and three-dimensional flowers. It is made of pale pink satin and chiffon. In this work the designer used the combination of textures of different fabrics - a technique that would be developed further in the costumes of the early 20th century. The chiffon placed on the satin softens the sheen of that fabric, damping it down and making it glitter depending on the lighting, thus producing a special decorative effect. The finishing of the dress - an embroidered plant design of twining stems and drooping tendrils - is in the Art Nouveau style, that created a complex system of linear ornament. It is founded on motifs of stylized flowers and plants with the graphic springiness of line characteristic of the style.
