The Neo-Classical trend in the costumes of the 1910s is
combined with elements of the Art Nouveau that manifested itself most
often in the decoration and the colour scheme. The decoration of this
dress made from white tulle and satin has been worked in the same shade
as the fabrics themselves. The typical Art Nouveau ornament of stylized
plant motifs has been embroidered with white silk. The embroidery - in
some places very sparse, with barely delineated outlines, in others a
solid covering of satin stitch - is very rich in texture and stands out
effectively on the background of satin shimmering through the tulle.
