This quartzite trinket in the form of a squirrel was produced at the workshop of August Hallström in the late 19th century. The posture of the squirrel is very expressive. Such pendants were made on a mass scale for Easter gifts by the firm of Fabergé. Though rather cheap, the object is of high artistic quality. Everything that had a stamp of Fabergé's firm, be it a cheap pendant or an exquisite piece of jewellery, was to display superb craftsmanship.
