Reporting and Control

On the 27th of May a memorandum on continued financing of the first period of the first stage of restoration and capital repairs of the Eastern Wing of the General Staff building by the World Bank was signed. The experts of the bank audited the reporting documentation of the General Constructor concerning the scope and budget of the works. The audit was carried out within the frames of a scheduled visit of the mission of the World Bank in connection with the completion of the works of the first period of the project's first stage on the 20th of May. The experts were given an opportunity to have a look at the progress and arrangement of the activities according to the schedule, and in so doing found it 'the most relevant to the parameters stated as opposed to all other projects funded by the World Bank in St Petersburg'.

The most recent restoration and repair works include the  measures, which have been wholly completed, taken to reinforce the existing floor decks and to set up new ones.

The activities aimed to secure the foundation with titanium piles and to strengthen the wall openings in the fifth yard are still under way. Test works designed to lower the 5th yard level by 5.2 metres have been launched.
