This reproduction is inspired by a votive cat statuette (5th century BC) from the Hermitage collection. Egyptians believed the cat to be a sacred animal, an incarnation of the goddess Bastet, a protector of home, maternity, and children.
It has been skillfully crafted by experienced workmen of the Hermitage workshops. Each product has been compared to the original and approved by the museum specialists.
