| A magnificently detailed plaster adaptation from a medallion commemorating the victory of the Russian Army in the War of 1812. The original (1816) was part of a series of twenty allegorical medallions created by the Russian medal-maker and sculptor Fyodor Tolstoi (1783-1873). This medallion features a woman, leaning on a shield with the Russian National emblem, presenting swords to representatives of three estates: the nobility, the merchants and the peasantry. Plaster.
