The original (1830) was part of a series of twenty allegorical medallions created by the Russian medal-maker and sculptor Fyodor Tolstoi (1783-1873). This medallion features a Hercules-like Russian warrior raising his club over the fallen enemy. Plaster. Diam. 7 3/4 in.
