The original (1823) was part of a series of twenty allegorical medallions created by the Russian medal-maker and sculptor Fyodor Tolstoi (1783-1873). The battle of Kulm was the turning point of the military campaign of 1813–14. This medallion features a Russian warrior wresting the sword from a defeated enemy. Plaster. Diam. 7 3/4 in.
