Small glass egg featuring traditional Imperial motifs-a double-headed eagle beneath a crown and a monogram of Emperor Nicholas II. Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, Easter eggs featuring the Russian Imperial Coat-of-Arms, Biblical scenes and ornamental patterns were reserved for members of the Imperial family or presented to distinguished people on behalf of the Emperor. The fine engraving based on ancient techniques is undoubtedly the most remarkable feature of this egg.
