An intricately engraved glass showing the Russian Imperial Coat-of-Arms, a common characteristic of 18th-century palace tableware. Small glass vessels appeared in Muscovite Russia during the late 16th - early 17th century when strong drink production began and the Russians started to make vodka. The shape is still popular today for serving vodka and other liquor.
