This rather massive glass has an engraved representation of the double-headed Eagle, the emblem of the Russian Empire. A contemporary artist demonstrates the same virtuosity of technique as was characteristic of the production by the craftsmen of the past, who worked for the Imperial porcelain and glass factories. Such ware with Imperial emblems and regalia was either presented to courtiers to show the royal honor or used at receptions at the royal court.
