On 29 December 2024 (Sunday), the General Staff building will remain open until 8:00 pm. On 31 December (Tuesday), the General Staff building will be open until 6:00 pm.
The museum is closed on January 1 and May 9
Visits follow fixed routes devised by the museum with entry by time slots.
Tickets
A ticket is valid for the chosen time slot and only on the specified day
An entry ticket provides the opportunity to independently view the permanent displays and temporary exhibitions
Available to pensioners who are citizens of the Russian Federation and other states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
To visit the museum on concessionary terms, pensioners must be able to present an ID document and a document confirming that they belong to a concessionary category as well as their ticket.
Tickets can be obtained in advance through the website or on the day from the ticket office.
For certain categories of visitor who have the right to a concession on presentation of the appropriate documents:
- children aged up to 14 (irrespective of citizenship)
- families with three or more children under 18 (citizens of the Russian Federation and other states of the Eurasian Economic Union)
- child invalids with one accompanying person (irrespective of citizenship)
- veterans of military operations (in accordance with Article 3 of the Federal Law “On Veterans” of 12 January 1995 No 5-ФЗ)
- family members of participants in the SMO (parents, spouses, children under the age of 18, children over 18, who became invalids before that age, children under the age of 23 attending a Russian educational institution full-time, dependants)
- veterans of the Great Patriotic War, including recipients of the medal For the Defence of Leningrad, invalids from childhood due to wounds, contusions or mutilation connected with military action during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–45
- persons awarded the badge of a Resident of Besieged Leningrad
- former under-age inmates of concentration camps, ghettos and other places of enforced detention set up by fascists and their allies during the Second World War (irrespective of citizenship)
- invalids of the 1st Group (citizens of the Russian Federation and other states of the Eurasian Economic Union) with one accompanying person (irrespective of citizenship)
- invalids of the 2nd Group (citizens of the Russian Federation and other states of the Eurasian Economic Union), among whom invalids with damage to the locomotor apparatus who are unable to move fully independently, wheelchair-bound invalids and visually impaired invalids have the right to one accompanying person (irrespective of citizenship)
- student cadets attending military educational institutions in the Russian Federation (irrespective of citizenship)
- servicemen doing compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (sergeants, sergeant majors, soldiers and sailors doing compulsory military service)
- full members of the Order of Labour Glory
- Heroes of Socialist Labour
- members of creative unions of the Russian Federation (artists, designers, architects)
- members of ICOM (the International Council of Museums)
- members of staff of museums in the Russian Federation

– Invalids of the 1st group (citizens of the RF and other states of the EAEU), with one accompanying person (irrespective of citizenship)
– Invalids of the 2nd group (citizens of the RF and other states of the EAEU, with one accompanying person (irrespective of citizenship) in the case of invalids with damage to the locomotor apparatus who are unable to move independently, wheelchair-users, or invalids with impaired vision
– Sign-language interpreters and interpreters for the deaf-blind accompanying invalids with impaired hearing and vision (irrespective of citizenship)
– Staff of museums in the Russian Federation
– Members of creative unions of the Russian Federation (artists, designers, architects)
– Members of ICOM (the International Council of Museums)
– Full Members of the Order of Labour Glory
– Heroes of Socialist Labour
– Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, including holders of the Medal for the Defence of Leningrad, invalids from childhood due to wounds, contusion or mutilation resulting from military actions during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–45
– Holders of the Resident of Besieged Leningrad badge
– Former under-age inmates of concentration camps, ghettos and other places of forcible detention created by the fascists and their allies during the Great Patriotic War (irrespective of citizenship)

Wearing personal protection in the museum is currently a recommendation, but not a requirement.
