Stained Glass: The Virgin and Child with St Anne

Germany, Nuremberg, сirca 1500

Based on the image of St Anne painted by Michele Wolgemuth on the inner panel of the main altar in the church at Swabach, this stained glass panel was clearly produced by the 15th-century German masters. The design along the border is very close to those on two pieces of Nuremberg painted glass of the late 15th century, also from the workshop of Wolgemuth.
