Comment:

The palace was built for Prince G.A. Potyomkin-Tavrichesky in 1783–1789 after the design of the architect I.E. Starov. After Potyomkin’s death in 1791 the palace was bought by the crown. The painting shows a garden façade and a landscape garden with ponds laid out in 1783–1790 by the gardener V. Gould. Author’s comment: Natalia Bakhareva
