In 2024, the State Hermitage will be holding an International Competition for an original decoration for the museum’s New Year trees for the 8th time. As in previous years, the Hermitage will be running it jointly with the AIRA technopark.
The “Create an Exhibit for the Hermitage” competition continues an old tradition of making Christmas and New Year decorations yourself.
It is open to people from the age of three upwards, from any corner of the planet. The chief requirement is that the entries should be made by hand and accord with the given theme.
This year the theme of the competition will be “Planet Hermitage”. Entrants are free to select any aspect of that metaphor and to create decorations that reflect everything connected with the Hermitage: its history, present and, perhaps, even future, its masterpieces and museum complexes, people and legends.
Decorations for the competition will be accepted in 2024 from 15 October to 1 December (inclusive). The precise rules will be announced a little later, but since the theme is already known, anyone who wishes can already begin working on their decoration, their exhibit for the Hermitage!
